1. Absolute encoder -- serial output
Serial output of absolute encoders has become the mainstream of communication transmission in all walks of life because of its advantages of fewer channels, and a variety of interfaces and protocols have been developed, which includes SSI, SPI, 232 for point-to-point communication, and 422, 485, CAN for multipoint communication in networking.
Take CAN as an example, we usually say that CAN includes interfaces at the physical layer and protocols at the application layer. On the interfaces of the physical layer, CAN generally contains four contacts: power supply, ground, CAN_H and CAN_L. Differential signals are formed between CAN_H and CAN_L for signal transmission. Its communication transmission distance can be up to 10km, and the maximum communication rate can be up to 1Mbps.
At the application level, CAN has develped various protocols, such as CANopen, J1939, DeviceNet, SDS, etc. corresponding to different application occasions. In addition, there are a variety of non-standard custom protocols.
